Weather permitting, trollers are catching walleye North of the Marblehead Dumping Ground. If you go further east, the dumping ground 4 miles north of Huron was very productive the last 5 days. Many trollers are pulling Stinger Spoons (still). Bandits have also been starting to produce. Casters, and again, weather permitting, are catching partial limits off Kelly and Gull Shoals. The SE corner of Kelleys in 8-12 feet has also produced walleye from time to time. Honestly, the weather for most of September and October so far, has hurt the most... no stable weather for more than 2 or 3 days in a row.
The perch bite has improved this past week, Good numbers of perch being caught SE of G Can, which is west of Catawba or D Can, which is west of Green Island. The most consistent spot has been SE of Rattlesnake and also between Rattlesnake and Middle Bass. Not hearing limits from most but the amount of fish being caught has been increasing daily. Just a note, we have had straight Emerald Shiners for the past 8 days and should continue to have them this upcoming week. If you have the opportunity, tomorrow would be a good day to get out. Forecast is calling for light winds, warm temps and hopefully no rain. Good Luck and Good Fishing and as always, thank you all for your patronage.
Rick, in our 40th. year, because of you...
