The past 3-4 days have been up and down, due to dirty water and a rough lake! On Monday and Tuesday, folks were fortunate enough to catch NW of Kellys and did even better up on the Canadian line. By Wednesday, the wind went ENE and you couldn't get up there very easily. The jig bite, for the most part, has been consistently slow. The reef complex to the west has looked like Maumee Bay when it comes to clarity. The fish are here but Mother Nature has been keeping things stirred up. North wind Friday doesn't look good at all, but Saturday and Sunday look fishable. As we haven't seen a satellite picture lately, you just have to work your way North to cleaner water. The bite North of Kellys up on the Canadian line should be as good as it's going to get. If you are jigging, you can hit the inside reefs and catch a few with hair jigs and a shiner.Talked to a couple groups staying over on Put-in-Bay and they have found fish jigging West of North Bass. They're also having luck trolling there too. Water is stained in streaks there, as of right now. Some folks jig with just a plain hair jig with no minnows, but you may want to take along a few right now. Anything helps in this dirty water. Bandits still the best crank bait right now, although some are still using P 10's too. Buck Fever, Blue Chrome and Chrome Huff Daddy have been the best colors recently. Also, fish have been higher up in water column.
Good Luck, Good Fishing and
Happy Easter everybody!
