Earlier this week, the West side of Catawba started up for about 3 days. Now, muddy water over there, has stifled that bite. With the on and off winds continuing, bottom bouncers with 2 hook dragging harnesses, have been very productive. These bottom hugging fish are becoming more and more active. Casting harnesses are also working. You can still count down and have luck catching. It just depends where you find the fish and what depth of water you're in. Trollers are still pulling crankbaits up on the Canadian Line, West of Gull Shoal and West of North Bass. Stinger Spoons pulled behind Dipsy Divers and Jet Divers are taking off too. A good bite on spoons NW of Kelleys in 35 ft. of water, 65-80 ft, back and 2.0-2.2 for speed, has been good too. A variety of pinks and purples on the spoons has been best. The reefs to the West of Catawba have been good and bad, depending on the water clarity. As I've stated in earlier reports, we aren't having our Saturday Biggest Walleye for cash prizes this year. However, we are, and will continue to run "HOT" tackle sales throughout the year. As of today and running through June 2, we are running all Custom Painted Bandits for $9.99 (regularly $13.49). We still have a great selection of over 100 colors in stock. Also, Standard Reef Runners and Deep Husky Jerks are $5.99. All blades are Buy 10-Get 2 Free. All Vibes and Capt. J's Blade Baits are $3.49 (regularly $5.49). Church Boards sold out and we only have a few of the blade boxes left for $19.95 (regularly $29.95)
The weather for the upcoming holiday weekend? Friday looks great so far, Saturday and Sunday, fishable but possibly wet (Imagine that)!
Have a great and safe Memorial Day Weekend everybody. To those who served and have served, we THANK YOU for your service. And for those who gave their lives for our freedom, we remember you and offer our prayers always.
Good Luck & Good Fishing!
